Penny Black Saturday Challenge - brown, green, pink

Hope you've all had a lovely weekend! The weather here is really hot, but a bit heavy so think we might be in for some thunder! I've had a busy weekend but managed to fit in my PBSC card, this week it's a colour theme: brown, green and pink. I've just received my new paisley embossing folder for my Cuttlebug so thought I'd give it a whirl! The stamp is one I got last week, it's an old one but I think the bunny is so cute!I've added a bit of glittery bling to the bird and flowers but it doesn't show up on the photo. Here's my card:

This is what I used:

-Penny Black Stamp "Bunny Kiss!"
-Watercolour Pencils
-Cuttlebug Embossing Folder "Perfectly Paisley"
-Sentiment stamp from Woodware
-Canson Paper
-Ribbon from Colours unlimited collection, Avec
-Buttons etc from stash

Tilda & Co Sunday Challenge - Dots

Hi! Been really busy this week so not had any time to myself! So that means no crafting either, except for this little 'New Home' card! I got a lovely surprise this week from Diane (Pink Sunflower), a whole load of Magnolia images! So I've used three little houses and a sun to make my card. I really like the stamps, they're fun! I've added dotty clouds as this weeks Tilda & Co Challenge theme is dots, I've also used some dotty ribbon.

Hello Notelets - Penny Black Saturday Challenge

What a scorcher it's been today, 30° to be precise, and there's not much drop in temperature yet (it's 10pm)! I'll never be able to sleep as our bedroom is in the loft! Anyway, just finished my Penny Black Saturday Challenge so thought I'd get it posted as will be pretty busy in the next few days so won't be doing much blogging. I've kind of bent the rules as I haven't exactly made a card to give to a friend although I know the theme is Friendship. Instead I've made a set of notelets for my friend who is moving to Switzerland on Sunday! I want to give her these notelets so she can send a little hello back to her friends in France once she gets settled in her new home. I've included matching envelopes, and I've also made a little presentation box for them. So here they are;

This is what I used;

-Penny Black Transparent Set - Bubbly
-Paper Mania Colossal Paper - Vibrant
-Watercolour pencils to colour image
-Paper Punches (ornate square and flower)
-Studio G Clear Stamps - Hello
-Ladybirds cut from paper I have in stash
-A few gems, ribbon, inking and doodling just for good measure!
-The box is made using the Crafter's Companion Board and then decorated with Decopatch

Bonne Fête Rudy!

Today is the first day of summer but it's also St. Rodolphe Day! I'll explain...in France every day is named after a saint, so the 21st of June is dedicated to my lovely (and craft tolerant) hubby Rudy!!! So I made this little card to wish him Bonne Fête, the frog is because...well he is French, and the ladybird is because he's "ma petite coccinelle"! Bless! I'll bake him a cake tonight! Hope he likes it?!

Thanks Tracy!

I just wanted to say a BIG thank you to Tracy (Ella Bella)! She has been so kind in sending me lots of stamped images, I just keep getting them out and looking at them! Since I started blogging it's really changed my life, as living in France I felt a bit isolated from my family and friends sometimes, but now I've made some lovely friends through blogging I don't feel quite so far away! This is the fab card Tracy sent me and just a FEW of the images:

Cute Card Thursday Challenge - Birthday & Sassy Crafts Magnolia Challenge

Ok, I must admit at the minute every spare hour I get I spend crafting, so I'm quick off the mark for this weeks Cute Card Thursday Challenge. The theme this week is "Birthday", however my card doesn't say the WORD but it's for a little girl called Laura who will be 3 years old in July. I've also entered this card for the Magnolia Challenge on Sassy Crafts as you just had to use at least one Magnolia stamp as a focal point on a craft project. I went for a traditional girly pink, here's what I used:

- Tilda image kindly sent to me by Tracy; I coloured her with watercolour pencils
- Matted and layered on Paper Mania Colossal card
- Background paper from Clover (which I've rediscovered in my stash)
- Laura's name is printed with See D's Traditional Alphabet stamps
- Button etc from stash

I hope you like her, I think Laura will!

Sassy Crafts Dovecraft Comp

I've just been blogging and come across a blog I've never seen before, Sassy Crafts. They've got some lovely blog candy on offer from Dovecraft, all you have to do is to create a card, atc etc using at least 3 Dovecraft products. The comp ends is less than an hour so I hope I'm not too late! For my card I used the following Dovecraft products:

6 x 6 Designer Paper Pack - Amethyst Floral Prints
Dovecraft Brush Markers - Pastels (to colour Henrietta the hippo)
Designer Brads - Brights (to attach my flower)
Designer Clear Stamps - Hello!

I added a bit of bling with some glitter glue, some ribbon and button flowers from my stash. The image is from Pink Petticoat.

Papertake Weekly Challenge - HOT

This weeks PTW Challenge is to use hot colours so I've used some cardstock I had in my stash for a while but wasn't sure what to do with it. I've made a little card wallet for a friend on the Do Crafts forum. I saw this wallet idea in a French card mag so thought I'd have a go. I added the little sunflower to add to the "hot" theme. The image is Penny Black "in a pot"...

Tilda & Co Sunday Challenge - Serendipity

Hi everyone! Ok, this week's challenge is about Serendipity. Well I must admit I had never heard of this before, what the heck is Serendipity? Well in a nutshell... "The great thing about the Serendipity Technique is that ‘anything goes’. Basically you create a collage sheet and cut it up into squares (or other shapes) and arrange the shapes in patterns to decorate cards, etc." So that's what I did and I came up with this...

I used watercolour pencils to colour Tilda, and the wording was done on the computer. Ribbon was from my stash and the flowers were... er hum... cut from a bra I was throwing out (definately doing my bit for recycling there then). I liked doing the serendipity bit so will have another go at it soon! Have a lovely afternoon :o)

My Very First Tilda!!! & Stamp Something Monochromatic Challenge

Ohhh! Isn't she lovely! I'm so pleased, my very first Tilda arrived on Friday so I couldn't help having a play with here over the weekend. The only problem was that I didn't have an acrylic block big enough (she's very grown up tee hee) so I had to improvise with a TILE! Well anyway it worked so the result came out ok, I think...on both cards the paper is from PM Nostalgia Warm Collection, Stamps are from Dovecraft and Imagiscene (not sure if spelt right) and Dovecraft, ribbons, raffia, flowers, buttons and gems are from my stash. The pink & beige card is for the Stamp Something Monochromatic Challenge this week. Thanks for taking an interest and have a lovely day (yeah I know it's Monday).

Penny Black Saturday Challenge - 1st Stamp

Hi I'm back again! Having a creative afternoon after finishing my chores this morning! So here is my card for the first challenge on Penny Black Saturday Challenge blog, go and check out the blog there's so fab stamps up for grabs this week! The image was my very first Penny Black purchase, it's called "In a pot". I spent ages trying to decide which stamp to buy, I liked so many! But not wanting to be unreasonable and buy the lot (think o/h might have something to say, although he is very tolerant of my hobbies (or is that obsession - eek?), I went for this as I thought the bear looked so sweet and cuddly. I also thought that it could lend itself to different occasions, if you get what I mean?! I also got my crop-a-dile out for this one, which is fab for setting eyelets. Off to make myself a cuppa now, thanks for looking and enjoy your afternoon.

A Little Penny Black Cutie

Good morning! Whey hey, it's Saturday and I'm off work, got all the day to myself! So maybe that means a bit of crafting? Well today is the first day of the Penny Black Saturday Challenge Blog so I might have to get the old craft knife etc out today! I did make a card last night (in advance for the Challenge) but it's not been done with my first stamp so will have to do another one. I found the background paper in a stash that I haven't used for ages and forget how much I liked it, it's from a company called Clover. Anyway...better get on with the challenge!

Hi, this is for Ellabella, it's her Birthday tomorrow! I know the card has arrived so I can safely put it on my blog now. Image is from Pink Petticoat, coloured with pearlescent watercolours. And I couldn't help but adding a bit of ribbon & a few buttons (it's an illness I know, but there's no treatment for it so can't help myself lol). Have a really fab birthday Tracy!!!

Pink & Black Birthday Babe

Just thought I'd show you my latest card, it's for my friend's birthday tomorrow. I don't much use pink and black but like the colour scheme so thought I'd have a bash. I kind of drew a blank with the layout of this card, I wanted to do something really different but just couldn't think what...so I used some old favourites, ribbons and buttons. I did use the ribbon slightly differently though, I kind of like it attached to the flower. I wanted to do a flower with ribbon (I've seen this on an american website - but there was no explications), does anyone know what I mean and how to do these? Anyway, have a lovely evening, I'm gonna get a glass of wine and sit in the garden for a bit, finally we've got some decent weather! Toodle pip! :o) x

Tilda Challenge - No Card Week

Hi! I've just finished my first ever Tilda Challenge and have to say I really enjoyed doing this one! Firstly because this is the first time I've used a Tilda image, and secondly as the challenge was to do something other than a card - uh oh! Anyway I had a canvas lying around that I bought donkeys ago and thought this would be the ideal chance to use it. I don't do painting that often and I used acylics for this so I can safely say this really was a challenge for me. The inspiration came from my garden, which has lots of lavender in it. I added the buttons as flowers (I'm a button-oholic), the little bird is from a Penny Black stamp (In a pot) and the sun was done freehand. I'm quite pleased with the finished result. Thanks for looking, and for those who have joined in with my blog candy challenge, Good Luck for tomorrow!

Hi everyone! Phew, finally finished work for the weekend! I'm gonna relax and do NOTHING tonight, o/h just off to collect take away pizzas cos I'm not cooking either, oh no! Anyway, just before I get stuck into my pizza, I thought I'd upload my latest card which is for Tracy's blog candy challenge (Ellabella), some great stuff up for grabs, thanks Tracy. I don't have much fairy stuff in my stash (don't know why cos I think fairies are really cute), so here's what I used:

- Bazzil Card
- Torn paper from Dovecraft
- E-Z Fairy rub ons from Royal & Langnickel
- "Magic" stamp from See D's Magical Christmas Collection
- Gems from my stash

Finally...you can relax!

Well it's been almost a week since my last post...how time flies! I've been busy with work stuff and have barely had a minute to do any crafting! I did manage to find time to do this little card as it's for a collegue who's leaving this Friday. The sentiment and image kind of sum it all up "Finally...you can relax"!!!

Image from Pink Petticoat (Lola Rose) - I coloured this using shimmer watercolour paints and added glitter to the bubbles
Paper from Dovecraft
Flower made from freebies (thanks Katy)
Organza ribbon/gems from my stash
Sentiment typed on computer

Thanks for taking a look, and please have a go at my blog candy challenge...I'm a bit of a 'billy no mates' as not many people seem interested in joining in :o) Maybe everyone has been really busy like me?
